"Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:13-14

12 Toxic Thoughts You Need To Drop For A Better Life - by Carol Morgan

You all know I love writing and sharing thoughtworthy posts. And here is another. I've highlighted some significant quotes from this post that I hope are not only beneficial to me but you as well.

- Khara

1. Thinking that you are a victim.
You’re not a victim. So stop blaming other people or your circumstances for your problems. Just because you don’t like where you are now doesn’t mean that you can’t take personal responsibility to change it for the better. So get rid of that victim-mentality because it doesn’t help anything. In fact, it acts as an obstacle to success. Realize that you, and only you, are responsible for your destiny.

Enjoying summer!

Heyyyyyy,

Sorry it's been a few weeks since I posted. Since last post I've celebrated my birthday, went on vacay and I'm busy working on a writing project, don't want to share anything more on it yet as I'm not sure which direction it will take, but hoping for the best. Below are a few photo snippets of my past few weeks.

Parenting Multiple Children

Photo from Lilytoad.us

When I was a kid dreaming about my future I didn't factor in having three kids. Two, yes. A boy first then a girl, which I got. Then there came the third kid and let's just say it changed the dynamic of parenting for me. Being a parent is a tough job regardless if you have one kid or more. For me three made it more demanding on my time (among other things) and finding the right balance in catering to each of my kids. Throw in the fact that my third kid is six and eight years younger than my other two it sometimes feel like I'm a parent of two groups of kids. Which I guess I am. What my preteen and teen are interested in is far different than my six year old. Just figuring out which movie to watch with the three of them can be challenge at times.

Make an Impact

(Photo from https://dianhasan.wordpress.com)

"The world tends to sum up a person's impact based on the fame and fortune that he or she possesses. But God sums up a person's impact in terms of relationship, character, and obedience to Him." - Charles F. Stanley

My Daily Skin Care Regimen

Recently I've been asked what I use on my face because it looks so clear and smooth. I haven't really had major issues with acne, but yes I've struggled with pesty pimples over the course of my life. Some even more so as I got older. My struggle wasn't that I got a lot on my face at once, rather I would get one huge one that would look like a red mountain on my face just waiting to explode. And when it did it would leave it's dark mark behind as a reminder. That would clear up then another would appear days later. Ugh! So I consulted with a esthetician that recommended that I start adding vitamin C serum to my daily regimen. Also she suggested changing my pillow case more than once a week, which I've done and believe that has helped too.

Poetry, my first love.

As a kid I use to carry a notebook and would write poems all the time. I haven't done so in a while.

Here's one from my collection.

Meddling Parents?

Photo from: http://www.sermamaencancun.com/

A couple days ago I saw a link to this post by Amy Carney on Facebook titled, "Stop doing these 8 things for your Teen this School Year," click here and I got convicted. Not on everything she mentioned, but some. I feel parents have a right to raise their children how they see fit, as long as it doesn't cause any physical and or emotional harm.
