Hmmmmmm? Think about that for a moment. Should marriages have an expiration date of maybe two-years and perhaps a 30-day renewal period before the marriage is automatically terminated? I heard this question asked on a radio show once, and found the topic quite interesting.

Where My Help Comes From
Written by: Khara Campbell
I slammed my hands against the front door frame to stop myself from tripping over a toy left on the floor by one of my two kids. “Ugh!” They’re trying to kill me, I swear. Not even in the mood to fuss at Dana and Aiden about it, after getting my balance, I kicked the toy to the side so hopefully no one else would be attacked by it. I’d get them to clean-up their messes when we get back home. Matter of fact, they need to go on punishment for not getting it done when I told them to do it last night before bed.

Who remembers this? Excerpt from my first novel: Not My Will
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Pastor Judah read from Isaiah 55:11.
Ty and I followed the scripture together, sharing his Bible. Erika, sitting next to me to my left, was following in her Bible, and Terrance, sitting right next to her on her left, followed in his Bible.
Wow, look at us, I thought momentarily as I looked to my left and right. We were all together in church. God, you are awesome!

This case is disturbing on so many different levels. Why wasn't the defendant's first action to call the police? I can partially understand maybe why she started to record the assault for "evidence". There was so much more, however, that she could have done to help her so called friend. But she got caught up in the "likes". So her friend's well-being became a distant concern - wow! Social media has a lot of benefits, but instances like this makes me see how things were better without it.

I've been attending church from as early as I can remember, some with variance in denomination. I however prefer non-denominational churches because they tend to stay away from doctrines that I feel put people into systematic boxes that I don't agree with. For instance, some denominational church doctrines feel that women shouldn't wear pants, jewelry, among other things. I don't see how a woman wearing or not wearing such things measure their faith in God. But to each their own. However, such beliefs like the above and experiences many have in churches leave me to question, what is the state of the Church? Just recently Pope Francis made a stand about divorced people being accepted into the Catholic Church and those that are homosexual. It made me ponder about why that even had to be addressed. The church is for the lost, the broken, the sick, the sinners - so why did the Pope have to address such issues?

These are notes from the message I received at church today that I just had to blog about.
"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world." 1 John 2:15-16

Underground is my new favorite show. I was hooked just from the commercials and previews about it airing. And the show definitely has not disappointed me. My hubby is even hooked on to it too, so now it's our weekly show to watch together.
