Seek the Blessings!

"Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You. Selah.  Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage." (Psalms 84:4-5)

God requires us to seek Him and to seek Him daily - and we should want to receive God's many blessings for our lives. There are some times however that I believe, we pray and ask God for His blessings, but we neglect to see the blessings that are already around us. That could be because, we unfortunately focus too much on the problems: the mounting bills, the broken relationships, the loss of a job, among other things, and miss the many blessings that we have. Yes we should pray and mediate on the Word of God, but we must not MISS what He's already blessed us with. In some sense in doing so we take God's blessings for granted. He is blessing us with the things we need but we are too overwhelmed with other things too notice.

For instance, have you ever fixated on a particular part of your body that you thought was hideous? Maybe a large pimple, gray hair, cellulite, I mean you are straight out obsessed with trying to fix that so called issue. But if someone else looks at it, they don't see this so called hideousness that you feel you have. To them, it's not even a big issue. Why do you think that is? Because they haven't obsessed themselves with making that particular part of your body a big issue. Instead they see the whole you and see that there's more great qualities than that one or two things you're obsessed with. Same is true with us missing the many blessings in our lives. We make the problems bigger than our God. So instead of doing that - SEEK THE BLESSINGS that are all around you! We have so much to be thankful for.

The very thing you think is such a BIG problem for you, is a blessing to someone else. Now that's not to say we should accept the bad - just don't make it your God. Make God bigger than your problems.
