So it's Christmas time and it got me to thinking of some of my favorites things. Not that I'm dropping any Christmas gift hints, but if you do feel inclined to get me a gift, these will help with your selection, LOL. But seriously, Oprah does her favorite things, so here is mine. Maybe you may find some of them useful for yourself and or others on your Christmas list.
My hubby and I celebrated our 3 years of marriage this past October. Although we’ve had our ups and downs I do know this to be true: Men need and want to be loved.
Not only that, but they need to be reminded.
Marriage is like a box that you deposit little love bombs into. When you are always doing this, always depositing, your hubby will feel it. He needs to also do his part by adding his deposit of love into this box.
Times will come, moments, arguments and you will want to look into that box of love bombs and take out a few as reminders of how you and your hubby really feel during times of trial.
When Jason and I were having communication issues, we decided to have a “counseling session” at church with a friend. Our counselor has been married over 40 years and we trusted he would help us out a bit.
One of his tips was to send loving text messages to each other during the day. Enter: love bombs. Enjoy the list!

Being your own boss is not for everyone.
While entrepreneurship comes with freedom and flexibility, there is also a great deal of responsibility and an even greater need for discipline. Curious as to whether or not you would cut it as an entrepreneur? Here are seven telltale signs:
Summer will soon be coming to an end and the cool of Fall will be fast approaching. Won't it be cool to experiment with some prints if you haven't already? Some of these suggestions below have me raising my eyebrows, I guess because I'm a beginner print mixer-matcher, lol. I feel safer with prints that are in the same color theme, I can work with that. What about you?
Soooo I was in Atlanta last weekend to attend the AAMBC Award show. Well that Friday I found out I was presenting at the award. Can you say I was NERVOUS! Yup. And I was told I would be the first presenter. Talk about putting an introvert (thankfully I'm not as shy as I used to be.) waaaaaaaaaay out of their comfort zone. Press and bloggers would be there, and celebrities like Claudia Jordan, who was the host of the award. You may know her from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. She was one of other celebrities that were attending/presenting. So I was feeling the pressure of not wanting to mess up my few lines and or trip and fall on my face at a show that would have multiple cameras flashing and video recording.
Sometimes we just need that little reminder of Who is really in control, or rather Who we should allow to be in control of our lives and situations.
I love this song! The beat and the message is perfect. I crank this up and start busting a move. My big kids look at me like I'm crazy but my four year old joins in with my craziness, LOL. We get our praise on.
Don't worry about the things you can't control - God's got it!
It's only 40 more days until my birthday!!!!!! A little reminder just so you don't forget ;-)
Is it just me or did June sneak up on us like, HEY WHAT UP? I'm happy though because my kids will be out of school soon and I will get a much needed break from homework and class projects. Whew!
What do you guys have planned for the summer? Any exciting vacations, are you gonna start a new project? Making any major moves? Well whatever it is I hope you have a great one. Oh and please don't forget to add my novels to your summer reads while you're chilling at the beach or the pool.
How cool is this, a book written by three preteen girls.
I am definitely getting this for my daughter to read this summer.

This is wonderful advice for parents in general. We are a team in our parenting jobs so we shouldn't judge one another. We are all learning and trying to get it right and in doing so we WILL make mistakes.
Sports-Agent Nicholas Brooks will never
forgive himself for compromising his clients. It was rare, but he placed his
heart and trust in the hands of a woman who not only deceived him, but wiped
out his client’s bank account.
It was a sting operation gone bad. There was
no other way Erika Kennedy could explain what happened. Oh…she got what she
wanted, she always did. But this time she made a fatal mistake…she fell in love
with the target.
She was getting over it, until her brother
came to her for help. Now she has to face the man she betrayed. Will Nick help, or handcuff her on sight?
Some of you may remember I blogged about trying a BB cream before and I did not like it. My reason then was because the brand I used was too thick and maybe the shade was wrong - but it just didn't look right on my face. Well I decided to try out a BB Cream again, mainly because I've been getting these annoying pimples as I get younger. Ugh! Because of them, it takes a little longer to clear the dark spots that sometimes are left behind after the pimple is gone, so I wanted sometime to cover them up until they're cleared away. I started using NICKA K BB Cream a couple weeks ago and I love it! The shade matches my complexion - you can't even tell I'm wearing it. It's light and you apply same way you would daily moisturizer. I have noticed a change in the texture of my skin within two days. It feels softer and smoother. So if you were looking for a BB cream maybe you would want to try out this brand.
Okay so I am still in the pursuit of finding the perfect cost effective way to keep my nails cute. I love gel manicures and even though it lasts about three weeks for me, $30-40 per session is kinda a lot for me. So I've looked at some alternatives: OPI and Gel Effect nail polish.
Something different from Not My Will and Purple Tears. ROMANCE with a touch of suspense. Based in the Bahamas so you will definitely get a taste of the islands.
Riley secured her seatbelt and leaned back comfortably against the leather seat. “I’m a Bank Manager at Bank of the Bahamas.” She turned her head to look at his gorgeous dark face. “Are you a Bahamian? I can hear a hint of an accent,” she asked curiously. “Yes,” he responded with a nod. “I bank at Bank of the Bahamas – which branch do you work at?” “Main branch on Shirley Street.” “Ah, I’ve been in there a few times. I’ve never noticed you before.”
More details soon... In the meantime check out the recent release, Purple Tears.

Imagine living in a world ranging from hazy, clouded vision to that of total darkness for 30 years. Before 1985, that was the plight of those with cataracts who did not want to risk surgery with a mechanical grinder. Now imagine sitting in a doctor's office without being able to see her as she explains that it may be possible to restore your vision. You can't tell by studying body language whether to trust this person or if they're pulling your leg. All you have to go by is the sound of the voice assuring you that this procedure is safe, more accurate and more comfortable than traditional cataract surgery.
