Writer Challenge - Write a crime scene from the POV of the murder weapon

As a writer you must always exercise your writing and creative muscles, so I participated in this challenge recently.  I personally do not like grimy, very descriptive books or movies, that have these types of scenes because I am a visual person and those things stay stuck in my mind for a while, which I don't like. However I took the challenge. Tell me what you think:

7 Relationship Tips That Can Do More Harm Than Good

7 Relationship Tips That Can Do More Harm Than Good

BY MATT MOSTYN
OCTOBER 20, 2014

Relationship advice is everywhere. Whether it's a blog post or an article telling us how to navigate our way through those partner-related problems and pitfalls, or the well-meaning advice of friends and family, it seems like everyone has an opinion on what's best for our love lives.

Ask Dr. Buckingham: Can I Thrive in a Loveless Marriage?

TNMWomanDepressedSad_feature

I love Dr. Buckingham's response to this letter.  In relationships we sometimes think that lovey-dovey feeling is always going to be there - the reality is that's a definite NOT! I know from experience.  It certainly does take work on both parties part to make a relationship/marriage work, and sometimes that work is HARD, but worth it if you want a sustaining relationship.

Summer Joy!

The first day of summer is just a couple days away, June 21st and I can't help but feel a little giddy.  I can't say that I'm looking forward to the extreme heat that we're already experiencing.  And yes - I can hear some of you murmur that I'm from the Bahamas so I should be used to the high temps. I am used to it - however the Bahamas heat isn't dry like it is where I am now, which is a big difference.  Anyhooo - I am looking forward to summer. Flip-flops. Tank-tops. Summer dresses and skirts. The beach! The pool! To top it off my kids are on summer break - yes I have freedom from projects, homework and the hustle and bustle of getting them to and from their activities. Yes, summer has so many wonderful things to offer and I am ready!  What are you looking forward to this summer?

The Treasure of a Godly Mother - taught by Dr. Charles Stanley

The Treasure of a Godly Mother - Part 1

Every mother wants her child’s faith to survive into adulthood, but today’s children face challenges to faith from every side. That’s why godly mothers are more important than ever. In this message, Dr. Stanley outlines the characteristics of a godly mother and the incredibly important influence she has on her children. Connecting them with God early in life helps them become trusting, generous, obedient, forgiving, persistent, and encouraging to others.

Listen here: http://www.intouch.org/broadcast/today-on-radio

I've been listening to Dr. Charles Stanley for years and I absolutely love his teaching.  I hope you enjoy this message.

The influence Mothers Have on their Sons - by Darlene Oakley

Studies Show the Huge Influence Mothers Have on Their Sons

It was thought by many men – and perhaps still thought by some – that the more time boys spend around women, the more wimpy they become, losing all sense of what it means to be a man. While certainly boys need a male influence as well in their lives, it is now believed that the right mother/son relationship does not, in fact, turn boys into wimps, but can actually enhance the man the son will grow into.

Mesthelioma Awareness

Heather Von St. James...

I was given just 15 months to live. In 2005, at the age of 36, and only three months after giving birth to my beautiful daughter Lily Rose, I was diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma. Upon learning of this life-altering diagnosis, my husband Cameron and I embarked upon a search to find the best mesothelioma treatment care available. Our search eventually led us to Dr. David Sugarbaker, a renowned mesothelioma surgeon at the Boston based Brigham and Women's hospital. - See more at: http://www.mesothelioma.com/heather/#.U1Vsr4zD_IU

Pub date is only two days away! I had my first radio interview - YAY!

So I guess you can imagine I've been busy prepping for the release of my debut novel Not My Will.  I am anxious, excited and nervous all wrapped up in one.  I am so happy to be fulfilling my dream of publishing a novel (one of many because I'm not stopping now).  I am thankful to God for this opportunity and to you for your support during this journey - THANK YOU!

I had my first radio interview today with Cyrus Webb. I was nervous and I think I could have answered the questions better, but I think I did a pretty good job considering this was my first.  Cyrus was an awesome host and I am happy to have had my first interview with him.  You can listen to it here:

The Gabby Douglas Story - this was so inspiring to watch!

I watched The Gabby Douglas Story this weekend on Lifetime TV and I have to say that it was very inspiring.  It was so amazing when Gabby won the gold medal in gymnastics during the 2012 Olympics.  Team USA won the gold medal along with Gabby receiving gold for individual all-around, making her the first black person to win an individual all-around medal.  Watching Gabby win the gold on TV was awesome, but actually watching her story and seeing the sacrifices that were made on her behalf was just phenomenal!  Gabby's family believed in her from the very beginning and went through tremendous sacrifices, unselfishly for her.  Gabby showed how she had moments when she wanted to give up, it was becoming too much - even though going to the Olympics had always been her dream, but with encouragement from family and other influential people in her life she persevered and we all see what the results were. WOW, this story is a much watch!  It would really get you up and pump to not want to give up on your dreams.

Hey, it's tax season and any bit of a deduction you can get helps

Hey, it's tax season and any bit of a deduction you can get helps.  Here are some from TurboTax.intuit.com:

Top 10 Oddball Tax Deductions

Can I deduct...?
Admit it. As you've worked on your tax return and considered what might count as a deduction, you've taken a few flights of fancy. "Can I claim a deduction for all those blood donations at the Red Cross?" Sorry, the answer is no.
"How about a charitable contribution for all the time I donate to the church?" No, again. "The wedding gift for the boss's daughter as an employee business expense?" Come on!
On the other hand, over the years the courts have allowed a few of  your fellow taxpayers to deduct some crazy things that most of us wouldn't even dream of claiming. We've uncovered what we think are the weirdest deductions allowed, ranging from pet food to free beer.

You don’t have to give up Style to represent Christ!

Ladies, if some of you are like me and like to look fashionable (without breaking the budget of course) and still represent your Christian belief guess what - you still can.  I believe as long as it’s not too tight, too short, revealing or offensive (graphics) then I say wear it!  Keep it modest and cute. Your body is the temple of the Lord and you can still dress it up and keep your faith and morals intact.  Some may feel how you dress shouldn’t matter, but really it should.  You are a billboard of God’s grace, forgiveness, love etc. and you should represent Him well.  Which means if you are not keeping yourself looking appropriately, forget about fashion, I mean if you are not even trying to make an effort to fix your hair and keep yourself clean and presentable, then you need to change that for the better.  God is an awesome God and we should represent Him well. Draw others to Christ by not only what you say and do but also how you dress.

Here are some fashion inspirations:
